Stockholm Concert Hall

In the very center!
In the bright blue Stockholm Concert Hall at Hötorget classical music meets jazz and more, the classical elegance of the early 20th century meets modern technology. Your event can be a part of this classical environment were the Nobel prize ceremony takes place every 10th of December.

The bright blue Stockholm Concert hall in the very centre of Stockholm has been the home of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra ever since 1926. The Concert Hall is known all over the world as the scene of the annual Nobel Prize Ceremony on 10 December. From 2004, it is also the venue of the Polar Music Prize Ceremony.

The creator of the Concert Hall was Ivar Tengbom, one of the leading Swedish architects of his time. He built the Concert Hall inspired by the design of the ancient temples in classical Greece. Tengbom’s idea was to ‘raise a musical temple not far from the Arctic Circle’.

The Stockholm Concert Hall is one of the foremost examples in Scandinavia of the neoclassical and art deco currents in the art and architecture of the 1920s.
