Stockholm - Rick Steves home in Europe
Scandinavia's heartland, Sweden is far bigger than Denmark and far flatter than Norway. This family-friendly land is home to IKEA, Volvo, ABBA, and long summer vacations at red-painted, white-trimmed summer cottages. Its capital, Stockholm, is Scandinavia's grandest city//If I had to call one European city home, it migth be Stockholm. One-third water, one-third parks, one-third city, on the sea surrounded by woods, bubbling with energy and history, Sweden's stunning capital is green, clean, and underrated.
Rick Steves Scandinavia, USA (20 000 families in the US base their trip on the guide)

Washington Post loves Millennium
Roaming Sodermalm, though, I find it hard to picture sadistic crimes and murders taking place in this pretty corner of Sweden. Earth-toned houses where laborers once lived are now the domain of edgy and fashionable Stockholmers who have opened tattoo parlors, art galleries and artisan gift shops along the often hilly cobblestone street.
Washington Post, February 14, 2020

Stockholm the coolest capital
In summer, tourists clog Gamla Stan’s skein of squiggly alleys. In winter, you’ll think you’ve stumbled through the Narnia wardrobe, as snow veils skeletal trees and quietens the tread through cobbled lanes and squares. This is Medieval Stockholm at its most preserved....

Christoph Kluge, Insbruck for TUI Resecenter Blog, June 2009

Paris, London and N.Y is nothing compared to Stockholm
Just the word "Scandinavia" could sound cold and dreary - conjuring images of a vast frozen hinterland. But that couldn't be more wrong. London's nightlife, Paris' fashions, and New York's panache have nothing on this Baltic Sea beauty. Say "Stockholm" and you're saying "style".
Janis Turk, The Chronicle USA, Sept 2008

Verdensbyen Stockholm

Stockholm is no longer a budget breaker
We love Stockholm for its great design ethos, bottle blondes, midnight sun and for giving the world ABBA's Benny Andersson, but many skip this hip Scandinavian city because of its price tag. With a few tricks you can prune your pocket for a more affordable break in the Swedish capital.
Belinda Jackson, Sydney Morning Herald, Sept 2008

Urban trendy and wild nature
Axel Pinck, Der Feinschmecker nr 9, 2008

Trendy, historic, beautiful and lots of space
Strong and confident, equally trendy and historic, and achingly beautiful come summer... Building a city on a collection of islands may have its logistical drawbacks; but no visitor to Stockholm will miss the most obvious peacetime benefit—space. There is an airy feel to the downtown that comes from the waters pretty much having been left alone to provide breathing space between neighborhoods
National Geographic Traveller, Places in a lifetime 2008

Stockholm - the jewel in Europes summer tiara
Stockholm is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful national capitals in the world. The Old Town is particularly spectacular, and walking around the city's waterways and parks is a glorious way to spend a week-long stretch of European summer. This lovely, lively city, with its maritime bent and international flavour...
Christian Bonetto, Lonely Planet 2008

Julehygge i Stockholm

Stockholm - the real Capital of Scandinavia
Stockholm has recently declared itself the “Capital of Scandinavia,” and for the moment at least, none of the other style-conscious Viking superpowers is mounting much of a challenge. With discount airlines like Ryanair bringing the rest of Europe to what is still technically just the Swedish capital, Stockholmers no longer fill weekend flights to Copenhagen for a dose of the international high life. The Swedish version of a good time is all about high glamour, haute cuisine, more high glamour and having fun.
Andrew Ferren, New York Times, Sep 2007

Eco City Stockholm the design Capital
Stockholm seems to have it all - beautiful architecture, excellent museums and a setting amidst picturesque little islands that is simply a dream. Being relatively small in size, with a hip and mostly young population, creates a laid back atmosphere cushioned in its flourishing café culture. However, Stockholmers are stylishly 'laid back' -, as the design capital of Europe, Stockholm is highly fashion conscious. High end designer boutiques and hair stylists outnumber bakeries by a ratio of 10:1, (at least, it seems).
Kat Morgenstern, Sacred Earth Travel, Sep 2007

Stockholm - It's cool up north
"No longer synonymous with the Nobel Prize or the color beige, Stockholm is emerging as a capital of cool, and its name is now increasingly bandied about in the same breath as London, Tokyo, Paris and New York City. Venture into SoFo on Södermalm... and you will see why."
Jiny Reddy - Time, USA, feb 2007

Stockholm har udstråling!
Stockholm markedsføres som "The Capital of Scandinavia", - altså Skandinaviens hovedstad.
Svend Klarskov - Sjællandske Weekend, Danmark, May 2007

Speechless! Stockholm is awesome
You know when you keeping hearing about a movie is so good that you start thinking that there is no way it can be that good - well Stockholm was kinda like that great movie EXCEPT this city really delivered.
Scott Schuman - The Sartorialist , May 2007

Subtle Stylish Sweden!
“There’s something about Stockholm – it keeps drawing me back, my friend Jennifer, a seasoned world traveller told me. After my recent visit I can see why… it’s an easy place to love. Everyone speaks English and it’s a manageable city with the highest density of galleries and museums in the world. Sweden is a trendsetter in clothing and home design, inspired by the surrounding natural beauty. You can’t go far in this city without seeing water. Built on 14 islands, Stockholm’s water is so clean you can actually swim in the lake surrounding the City Center"
Ruth Wertzberger, journalist at Live Well, USA, January 2007
