The Royal Palace of Stockholm is a combination of official royal residence, workplace for the Royal Court and a cultural-historical monument open year-round to visitors, which makes it unique among Europe’s royal residences. The Royal Apartments are a collective name for the magnificent staterooms that are used at the King’s and Queen’s receptions, and include the grand Hall of State with Queen Christina’s silver throne.
The well-preserved interior provides historical insights dating from the 1700s, where each successive monarch has left traces of his rule.
In addition to the Royal Apartments there are the Treasury with the regalia, the Tre Kronor Museum that portrays the palace’s medieval history and Gustav III’s Museum of Antiques.
